Iran calls for review of a decision of the European Union (EU) to impose oil embargo since 1 July. On the 26 June, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic Ali Akbar Salehi, who arrived on a visit to Cyprus.
The head of the Ministry is planning to hold talks with representatives of the Government of Cyprus, which with 1 July will receive EU Presidency. Tehran believes that the authorities of the island nation can help soften the heightened relations between Iran and the EU. "We hope that the EU will consider this issue more rationally and reasonably, in my opinion, the feud is no benefit for one of the parties," said the Minister, reports RBK with reference to Reuters.
As we have informed, in the end of January 2012. the heads of the foreign ministries of the EU Member States have endorsed the oil embargo against Iran.
